I don't know if this is at all inspiring, but I went to Faerieworlds in Oregon last summer and saw so many great ideas. It gave me the art/crafting bug and I have started making items from wet forming veg. tanned leather. I've made a few hair ornaments for friends and a mask. It is easier than you would think, if you have the right materials.

Also, I have seen all of these nifty moss and lichen terrariums on the internet lately (try google image search for "moss terrarium"). I love terrariums (right now I'm trying to grow ivy-leaf toadflax in an apothecary jar) but I would love to have a bit of the woods in my little house in a nifty jar. Has anyone tried this? You could make a fairy garden with toadstools and such. You can do wonders with some polymer clay right in your own oven.
